Echo1 is an American airsoft company with a very impressive selection of airsoft rifles and even some mini-guns. They are located in Los Angeles and pride themselves on using very high quality materials and precision craftsmanship.
One of the first things I notice about Echo1 is the quality of the website. This is very important if the internet is the primary, or only, means of distributing your product. There is a very large selection of repair and upgrade parts located on the website and all of them seem to be of the same high quality as the airsoft guns themselves. I’ve seen very good reviews for these airsoft guns and they have been impressed by the overall positive message from the reviewers.
One thing that this company has that many others don’t is officially licensed firearm and accessory replicas. This includes Stag Arms, Barrett, MAX Tactical, and Noveske Rifleworks. I enjoyed the idea of an airsoft mini-gun and launcher. I like that I’m seeing an increasing number of sights selling “match” grade bb’s for use in the high price, and high quality airsoft guns. This is important for two reasons. The first reason is that they are seamless, which means a more uniform ball and better travel down the barrel. This has a marked effect on the accuracy.
The second reason is that the heaver ball will fly straighter as the wind will have a less severe effect on it. This causes a slight decrease in the velocity but at the ranges most people are firing from this shouldn’t be nearly enough to cause any serious problems. Going back to the way the company runs their website, I really like the way they categorize the different guns on their sight. It’s so instinctive to navigate this sight that I found it very easy to find anything I could need, from the guns themselves to all of the best upgrades. I did notice a very disappointing lack of pistols.
I’ve always been a very big fan of airsoft pistols. This is for two reasons. First of all, they’re cool. The second more important reason is because everyone in a fight needs a good backup gun should their primary weapon go down. This is as true in airsoft matches as it is in real life because even in a match you don’t want to run dry right as you draw down on the final guy. This can be the difference between winning and losing and if you ask me that is life and death in an airsoft match.
