ICS, or I Chih Shivan, is an airsoft gun company that provides not only airsoft pistols and rifles but an assortment of tactical gear and attire. I’ve seen models with AEG and spring mechanism so far and I couldn’t be more impressed with the sheer number of airsoft items available from this outstanding company. Some reports indicate that this company has been in operation since 1983.
This is impressive for a company to run and it shows a certain quality of product and design for such a niche company to stay so popular and powerful for such a long time. Honestly if I wasn’t aware that I was looking at an airsoft site when I found the ICS page I might have believed I was looking at a full-fledged tactical dealer. This says a lot for the company as far as realism and commitment to quality in their product.
I was especially shocked when I saw the claymore, frag grenades, and 40mm airsoft grenades. Naturally there was an M203 on hand to launch said airsoft death. They also carry targets for practice on the off days and a variety of optics for quick acquisition of targets. Now to the best part of this company, and that has to be the guns.
The majority of the ICS airsoft rifles I found by them had full metal bodies and gearboxes. I can’t overstate how important this is to longevity. This applies especially to matches where conditions can be extremely rough for guns. I definitely wouldn’t want to fall and land on a plastic gun with all of my weight. This would almost certainly result in a broken gun. I love the large selection of airsoft assault rifles they have.
I also personally like the suppressors. They don’t do any good but for the looks I think it would be cool to have one. Of course they also sell the necessary maintenance items such as lube. Maintaining your guns is a vital part to preserving them for longer use. I personally think it’s better to maintain a good gun for a few years then to buy a new gun every time you wear yours out due to improper maintenance. Now I admit it’s not as vital in a plastic gun using air or electricity to fire plastic bb’s but it’s still important.
