Jing Gong airsoft is an internet airsoft company also known as Golden Bow. The actual company is located in China and I’ve seen reviews in both extremes on this company. I’ve heard reviews bashing the internals and telling me that the internals will give way due to the spring being way to tight or overstrung. I find it odd when you can find so even a distribution of positive and negative reviews.
There are always dissenters but usually you can find a line in the sand where you figure out what the majority thinks. I’ve seen a lot of people refer to them as mid-priced so I’m sure that they fall into many beginning and intermediate player’s price range. It’s a good market to fill because most of them want more than a very basic plastic gun but also don’t want to spend three hundred plus dollars on a hobby. I can sympathize with this because like most people I don’t have unlimited disposable income so it is nice to have what I would consider an ok gun for a reasonable price.
I’ve noticed that a lot of JG airsoft guns are made of plastic and only have a metal gearbox and small bits of internals. This is expected because you don’t really get the full metal body until you get into the high end and naturally higher priced airsoft guns. They do have an awful lot of AEG airsoft guns but for those of you who have read my other reviews you’ll remember that I prefer the AEG gearbox over spring and gas. If you haven’t had the chance to read those articles then I’ll briefly explain.
AEG guns are obviously preferable to spring because of the rate of fire. I prefer them to gas because of the money issue. This is mostly found in the fact that you have to buy gas every time it runs out whereas you can simply recharge the battery on an AEG. But I digress this is so subjective that my view on it is really not that important.
I’ve personally found Jing Gong to be an ok manufacturer and an ok deal. I’ve seen the guns in the low to middle one hundreds and this seems reasonable to me. I’d pay that for a reasonably better gun than the lower end ones. Obviously it’s not as big a jump in quality as low to high grade but enough for the casual to intermediate user.
