The L85 and L86 series airsoft guns are of the bull pup design and are very popular amongst many airsoft fans. The bull pup design places the action behind the magazine closer to the rear of the weapon and in doing so allows a longer barrel with a shorter overall gun. Perfect for CQC this small lightweight weapon can be employed anywhere you need with very minimal space requirements.
I personally liked the versions of this airsoft gun that I researched because the ones I saw where steel constructed and had blistering fps ratings. When you combine this with a huge mag capacity and fair accuracy then you have a weapon that will never leave you feeling under gunned when you find yourself trading sight pictures with someone that would just love to shoot you.
For the majority of the reviews I was able to find the outlook seemed very positive for these guns and that’s understandable. With the exception of being a sniper rifle this gun is the jack of all trades that a lot of people that only get to buy one gun every long time might be looking for. It’s got the scope base for some distance work and the power and rate of fire for in close and hectic room to room fighting. Now all of this might seem a bit much for airsoft but you have to understand how serious some people take this sport.
I’ve seen entire teams dressed to the hilt with every bit of honest to goodness tactical gear you can find and I’ll be the first one to tell you that some of this stuff isn’t cheap in the least. Speaking of cheap, I found the L85 at airsplat for 175 and some change and the L86 at the same site for 399.99. This is a pretty penny for the beginner so I assume that this gun will be relegated to the ranks of the more senior, or at least more serious, airsoft warriors.
Wherever these guns find themselves serving I’m sure that they will do their job well and there will be many hard fought victories won and lost from both sides of this gun. I can only say that I hope if I ever find myself in one of these battles that I am the one behind the gun and on the winning side of the fight. I know one thing for sure and that is that I sure don’t want to be on the business end when the L86 goes hot.
