It might just be my opinion but I think that the real steel Sig Sauer guns are some of the coolest guns on the market. It’s not just the looks but I know of so many professionals that swear by them. That means that I’m particularly excited to write this article because it gives me an excuse to look at Sigs again.
The guns themselves are not overly expensive and even the high end airsoft rifles don’t really break the pricing range you’d expect to find them in. I like that they are officially licensed so they carry the Sig Sauer name. The pistols I was able to find were spring which is kind of a letdown because of the rate of fire but they still look good and very realistic.
The rifles and carbines are AEG and by now it’s no secret that I prefer them that way. I do hope to be able to find some GBB Sig Pistols. A lot of people buy these guns for the fact that they enjoy Sig so much in real life and these are a faithful enough recreation to satisfy their needs in the airsoft arena. I’ve heard mixed reviews about quality with one man even stating that after the fifth fire his slide flew off and hit him in the face. To me this just sound like one extremely unlikely event and not a defect everyone should worry about. As far as accuracy I’ve heard generally good things. For the price most people seem to be happy and that is really what matters.
As I’ve mentioned before, you can’t pay for a low level gun and get the top tier quality of a gun 4 or 5 times the price. That just isn’t how it happens and it’s not how I’ll ever conduct my reviews. I’ve read a few articles where the pistols are hampered in their range and accuracy by the plastic suppressors that come with them.
One remedy I heard for this was to use a metal one from a different airsoft pistol but it was still not that great a fix and you still hit way below point of aim. All of this aside I was very impressed with what I heard about the rifles and the AEG mechanisms will keep the rate of fire right where I like it. They’ll go either slow and sustained or very fast. Each rate of fire has its own virtues and I like them both when the time is right.
